As is the case with all non-for-profit associations the club is only as good as the sum of its members and their collective knowledge and experience within our hobby.  Membership to the Toowoomba Live Steamers gives you access to the track and its engines and the collective train building knowledge within the group.

Membership is open to any persons over the age of 14 interested in the aims of the organisation and pay the annual membership.  Membership is subject to approval by the Management Committee.  Application Forms are available from the Secretary or click the link opposite.  Prospective members and visitors are always welcome to come to our meetings or public running days for a chat.

Members are encouraged to participate in the clubs many activities including the public running days, and club invitation events.  Membership activities include operating and maintaining the clubs extensive collection of steam, diesel and electric locomotives.  When operating on public running days club members drive trains, conduct station master duties, sell tickets and provide help and assistance to the public.

Annual membership fees are currently $40/annum and are set annually at the clubs AGM each February.

Our Engines:

Our Club’s and members’ model locomotives consist of steam, diesel, diesel-electric, and electric powered units.  Some members also have model traction engines, and the park has an adequate area to accommodate these.

Our Resources:

The construction, operation and maintenance of the railway is carried out voluntarily by the members.  Club expenses include coal for model steam locomotives, maintenance of track infrastructure, public liability insurance.  Our revenue is limited and comes by way of public train ride fares, private hire events, members’ subscriptions and occasional grants (e.g. various community benefit funding programs).

The Toowoomba Regional Council funded and constructed the new earthworks, drainage and buildings for our recent relocation to Lemway Park.
